Welcome to the web site for The Texas Affiliate of the American College of Nurse- Midwives (ACNM).CTCNM serves to promote midwifery in the state of Texas.

Our goal is to educate the public on the scope of practice of Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) in Texas and to promote midwifery through political action, education and fund raising. The Texas affiliate of ACNM is the the professional organization for more than 419 Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) in Texas.

We are here to:

  • Promote the profession of midwifery in Texas
  • Educate the public about the profession of midwifery.
  • Help Texas women find a nurse-midwife.
  • Improve access to the midwifery model of care.
  • Inform Texas nurse-midwives about local, state, and federal activities.
  • Foster networking opportunities for Texas midwives.
  • Cultivate alliances with healthcare organizations and professional groups.
  • Advocate for midwifery in the Texas State Legislature.
  • Advance and support health policy initiatives that promote the health and well-being of women and newborns.
  • Provide continuing education opportunities for healthcare professionals.
Our hope is that Texans can find information they need to:

  • Make informed decisions about CNMs
  • Find a CNM in their area
  • link to other helpful sites related to Midwifery
  • join efforts to promote and advocate for CNMs in Texas
