CTCNM
Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) are health care providers who care for women of all ages and stages of life. Many midwives focus on maternity care, i.e. care for pregnancy, labor & birth.

Our education
CNMs are registered nurses (RNs) who have received advanced degrees (master's or higher). Our education includes hands-on clinical training under experienced CNMs. We are then sit for a national certification exam and are licensed by the State of Texas. CNMs also maintain our registered nurse licenses.
Where do CNMs practice?
-
Over 90% of births attended by nurse-midwives occur in hospitals.
-
Other CNMs practice in freestanding birth centers or do home births.
-
Some CNMs focus on primary care or well-woman/gynecologic patients.
